Hey guys, I'm going to attend Austin this August, but unfortunately my plane will drop me at Houston. What transportation should I use to reach Austin? I'll be staying at the Days Inn near UT Austin.

I'm afraid I'll be carrying a lot of baggages, and my parents are also coming with me. If possible, I'd like to rent a car and a driver to directly take me to Austin.
Thanks!

It might actually be cheaper to buy a plane ticket from Houston to Austin than to hire a car to drive you here, not to mention faster assuming you can get an outgoing flight not too long after your other one gets in.

If you still elect to drive, I’d honestly recommend a rental car from like Hertz or something since all of those can be done one-way. If neither you nor your parents want to drive the vehicle, I’d get a quote from both a cab company (if they’re willing to drive that far) and a limousine/charter company to see which will be the most economical. There’s always the Greyhound option, but then you’re stuck waiting on the bus’ schedule instead of your own.

@eclipze, are you flying from Indonesia? It will be much easier to include a connecting flight from Houston to Austin when you make reservation. It will be cheaper than buying a separate ticket from Houston to Austin. You and your parents will go through the immigration/custom check in Houston airport. After that you can check in your luggages and fly to Austin.
