Hello. I was admitted to Nanoengineering (Master program) in U of California, San Diego (UCSD) this year. Is there anyone who is in UCSD? I want to know some detailed questions, thank you very much!
- The website of UCSD said: "Pass at 70% = Get Masters degree and Advance into Ph.D. program" (see http://nanoengineering.ucsd.edu/graduate-programs/degree/nanoengineering/detailed-description). Does this mean if I get average scores more than 70, then I would be ensured to admit to Ph.D. program? If not, what the ratio is?
- Many people said that majoring in nanoengineering (either MS or PhD) is quite difficult to find a job? Is that true? Maybe I would be interested in semiconductors or sensors (two specific area in nanoengineering).
- The website (http://nanoengineering.ucsd.edu/graduate-programs/degree/nanoengineering/masters) also said:
“The three focus areas and related courses are:
Focus 1 – Biomedical Nanotechnology
Focus 2 – Molecular & Nanomaterials
Focus 3 – Nanotechnologies for Energy and the Environment”
If you were me, which one will you choose, and why?
Thank you very much!!!
