how accurate are you?

Just that, how accurate are you at predicting whether people get in or not, given that most of you are other applicants who probably are no closer to understanding admissions officers than the person asking for evaluations?

I would smack you in the face if I could see you. How accurate do you think we are? No one here can tell. Stop posting on this forum.

The probability of my accuracy is usually around 187/564.

9/12 with their exact early decision....but then again, these are of people I know personally, not people on CC...I do too much research on trends and stuff for people I care about...

Why so rude, WC? It's a fair question, considering how many people are seeking advice from this forum.

As for whether you can tell, you certainly can, if you keep track of your predictions and later acceptance results. You don't have to track other people; simply start your own chances thread, see what people say, and then compare it with your acceptance results.

i agree with platypushunter, most people on here are just students (some may have already gotten in and knows a slight bit more) and WC, your not going to do ANYTHIGN even if you "can" see platy, and u know that he/she's right,t hat most people on here are bored and just wanna sound smart by makin dumb predictions.

Clearly we can only give rough estimates as to what the chances are. Its not like it is a lottery and the scores and such give exact percent chances. A lot of people that looked really good got def/reject. All we can do is tell you how good you look. You just have to apply and see what the college says.

I agree Synthetic Angel, but I still wonder why people want their rated chances so badly. It's not like we even have the full picture of their application--we don't know what their recs and essays look like for ourselves.

yeah... i just put mine up and its just nice to have the security to have someone say you have a chance. Also, I want to know that I'm not aiming too high so I don't completely biff myself over. Its more of just to rest your mind than anything else i guess.

Well, "aiming too high" is a bit of a misleading phrase. People get into ivies that don't look very good, and other people that look perfect get rejected. So nothing is "aiming too high" as long as you have safties to fall back on. Its only a matter of trying. BTW ichiboy, why not call yourself ichibanboy?
