How Admission Officers see Grades

So I know Carnegie Mellon counts A-, A, and A+ as a 4.0 when they calculate gpa. However, when admission officers are looking at them, do they mentally see an A- the same as an A on my transcript? I am asking because I have a lot of A-s in my classes which fortunately get factored in as a 4.0, but I am worried that admission officers will scrutinize the A-'s and count them less than an A.

All input is appreciated! Thanks!

Nobody can answer this other than an AO, and they won’t tell you.

And what’s the alternative for you? It is what it is. Stop worrying about things you can’t control and put some effort into things you can, like your essays.

The admissions officers are human and every person is different; the impression they get is the impression they get. Like skieurope said, you have no control over it, so why worry?

The same reason why hundreds of people post their “chance me” threads even though theres nothing they can do to change their grades. I want to mentally prepare myself for a rejection and know what could of been the reason.

Carnegie Mellon says they do not look at freshmen grades, but what about for credit summer classes between freshmen and sophomore year?
