Hi, I wanted to see how I'm doing so far for some competitive colleges. (: I'll chance back if you want me to, though I'm not exactly an expert.

Profile:
Sophomore
Female
White
California
Public School, think it's pretty good...we have 3000 students, and this year we have at least 2 kids accepted to Stanford, 1 going to Harvard, 5-10ish going to Berkeley, many others going to assorted UC's

GPA:
Freshman UW GPA: 4.0, maximum # of honors classes (3), also a year ahead in math (Algebra 2-H)
Sophomore UW GPA: 3.83
Sophomore W GPA: 4.33 (2 APs and a weighted precalc/Calc A class)

PSAT:
76 CR, 66 W, 64 M
Not that great, I know, but I only studied for like an hour the night before I took it (NOT good planning -_-), so I feel confident that if I really study hard for it and the actual SAT I can get within the 700s for Writing and Math and hopefully 750 + for CR. I know that's a big if, though.

Sat II:
Biology M (haven't taken yet, will this year)
US History (next year)
Literature (next year)

AP Classes:
10th grade: AP Euro, AP Bio, have A's in both classes and hoping I got 5's (will be very surprised if I got lower for Euro, and think its likely I got a 5 for bio)
11th grade: Calculus B/C, APUSH, English 3AP
12th grade: AP Government, English 4AP, Chemistry AP, at least one more AP

Extracurriculars:
--Speech and Debate team (9-12), currently have Degree of Honor, involvement increasing each year, will likely have an officer position senior year
--Participation in BeWISE (Better Education for Women ins Science and Engineering) (7-12), attend various workshops (all free) throughout the years including day long events at places like a nuclear power plant, CRES, SeaWorld, the USS Midway, etc., in order to learn more about different applications of science. I've also participated in the longer, more intensive summer programs (see below)
--Hospital Volunteer (10-12), will have over 300 hours by the time I graduate
--Future Voters of America Club (10-12), co-president next year, discuss current events and issues, try to get students interested and involved in the democratic process
--Children's Relief Coalition (10-12), vice president next year, the club fundraises in order to support an underprivileged sponsor child in South America
--Amnesty International (10-12), will be president next year if I can ensure the club survives, since we're losing our seniors and therefore have very few people, but I think I can pull it off
--Nominated for and attended The Jenna Druck Foundation Spirit of Leadership Conference, means I also won Spirit of Leadership Award (10)
--NHS
--READING, have always been a huge bookworm and voracious reader, now mostly read adult contemporary fiction and classics
--Drawing for pleasure, have had some art in local student art shows and won awards in some of them
--Exercise at the gym, five days a week, 8 hours a week
--Stay up to date on current events, which I know isn't really an EC but it ties in to my involvement with Future Voters, and I do spend a lot of time watching the news (like when I'm exercising), reading the papers, The New Yorker, etc.

Summers:
Before 10th:
--took a drawing class at a local community college, not to fulfill a school requirement but because of my interest in drawing
--One of 12 girls accepted into the Young Women in Cancer Research Oncofertility Academy, which is a part of BEWiSE. As part of the program, we had various sessions on the UCSD campus and other locations in which different scientists taught us about the many issues relating to oncology and assisted reproductive technologies. We each designed research projects and created full size scientific posters for them.

Upcoming Summer:
--Traveling to Washington DC, also Washington state
--Attending weeklong SPAWAR physics and engineering bootcamp, which is also a BEWiSE program
--taking online class at the community college on Economics, just as extra enrichment, and it will help for S&D
--write speeches for next year
--start studying for PSAT, SAT
