As a freshman at a community college i have been denied any kind of financial aid. Next year i want to start at a university and even the average school is around 40,000 a year. I want to get my masters in psychology and in order to do that i will be in university for 5 years which means 40,000x5= 250,000 and than plus interest that will add up over those years. I don't expect to get any grants/scholarships or any of that and no financial aid since i don't qualify. My question is how would i pay back that amount and how much my monthly payments will be which i'm more worried about

This is not a question that is normally asked on the chances board.

However, what schools do you feel you have a chance of getting in? What are their costs?

Short answer, you don’t. There’s probably an extremely small chance you can get a job in psychology that could cover that much in monthly payments, at least without years and years and years of work experience. You should definitely do anything and everything to at least apply for merit aid and outside scholarships if you won’t be covered by need-based aid.

Clearly a ■■■■■. 40k X 5 is 200k, not 250k.

You can do that , but you will be paying back your student loans til you’re 40+.

Questions:

Your parents won’t contribute a dime to your college education? If the case is that their incomes are very low, I find it extremely hard to believe that you will get no aid money.

You can’t work? You only go to university 7 months of the year for a reason. You can make $12,000 working over the summer.

You can’t do that, because no one is going to lend you $200k to get a Master’s in Psych.
