Does anyone know how and when you find out if you are a scholarship finalist?

You'll get an email in late February, I think, followed by an actual letter a few days later. The interview weekends are in early April, or at least they were last year.

this year they're in mid to late march, so i would expect about 3-4 weeks notice, prolly mid to late feb

Do you get an e-mail whether OR NOT you are a finalist, or are only the finalists notified?

Only the finalists get emails, as far as I know. I think the rest of the applicants will have to rely on the good old US Postal Service.

My S didn't get the e-mail, just the letter in March saying he was awarded an engineering scholarship. He didn't have to go to interviews.

if you hear back about scholarships in mid to late february, and you applied reg admission, do you hear back your admissions decision then too? would they give someone a scholarship if they might not be admitted? I heard admissions decisions don't come back till around late march

Cressmom -- that's interesting how the engineering scholarship worked for your son. I thought finalists were invited to campus and were judged there and later heard about whether they received scholarships. Do you know if it worked this way for others too? My son has applied for the engineering scholarship, so we're trying to figure out how it's going to work. Thanks.

anyone know why danforth is like the "secret" scholarship?

Some of the scholarships you do have to interview for, while others you are automatically considered for if you apply. For example, last year I applied for the Fitzgibbon Scholarship, did not make it even to the interview stage, but I still got a different architecture scholarship that I did not have to apply for, and now I'm in ArtSci and that scholarship followed me. So although I may be wrong, maybe the engineering scholarship wasn't THE interview one, but another just as nice one. (Although it is certainly possible that it was, or the engineering one doesn't have an interview?, I know nothing about it) I guess my main message is, even if you don't make it to the interview process, don't worry that your chances for a scholarship are lost. : )
