A girl at my school got an interview for Dartmouth but I haven't heard anything yet. How are interviews chosen for Dartmouth? The site sates that "application information" are sent to alumni interviewers whereas Brown clearly states that interviews are completely random. I'm so worried!

it’s the same. Dartmouth doesn’t have time to presort applicants. It’s random. Relax

Okay. Thank you! So it was just a coincidence that the ones with higher stats than me got chosen…

In my area, Dartmouth applicants were contacted to attend one of several interview days, held at a local school. These consisted of each interested student receiving a one-hour timeslot with an alumni interviewer. I think it was organized by a local alumni club, and I don’t think the students were randomly selected, but I’m not sure on that.

At my school, everyone who applied was assigned to the same interviewer. There were only three of us though, so maybe it’s different at your school. If you don’t hear soon though, I’d call Dartmouth about it.

Interviews aren’t necessary though, so don’t stress if you never hear from an interviewer. It’s no slight on you if you don’t; they don’t interview likely applicants only or anything.

Don’t worry if you don’t get an interview. I probably won’t be having one.

I haven’t heard anything about an interview, but received a likely letter today.
