I'm using the commonapp and I'm wondering should I include the honor societies because I do not think I can fit all of them, because they have caps on the amount you can have, also I stopped at AP Spanish 4 and could not take 5 due to scheduling conflicts, will that hurt?
Thanks again for any feedback, btw i'm applying to CAS and plan to major in PPE

You should see if your guidance counselor can write something for you saying you couldn't take Spanish 5. (Mine is doing the same for me since I couldn't take Calc BC because of schedule, forcing me into AB.)

But other than that, you have a strong application. Good luck.

lol 5 students going to Ivys would probably qualify as competitive

grades are excellent. just get SAT I up and you have a good shot, especially ED.

what's hug?

ap human geography

um..higher than palin's IQ but lower than the number time mccain's testicles were shcoked in vietnam. id say you have a 10xpi percent chance of getting in early.

anymore feedback?

a penn representative came to my school a month ago. they accept a lot of ppl whose SATs are below 2000, if u think u cant raise ur score by more than 100 pts then dont bother, cuz they dont like ppl who waste a lot of time on test but doesnt improve their score significantly.

i think ur gpa is a 4.

anyways u have a lot a stuff and they are all really good, but u gotta find ur focus and which of these things u did because u loved and not because to make ur application look better.

my advice is on all the written parts of your app, choose to write about something u cares much more than everything else, and dont be afraid just to brag about only one or two things.

also dont write something because u think the school wants to hear it, that'll put u into the norms, and these *******s has been reading applications for many yrs so they can tell whether u r sincere.

So keep it real, thats wut my friend in china told me.
btw if it'll make u feel better, he got into 12 ivies this yr as an international student w/ only a 2100 SAT.
His friend who got into columbia was in juvenille hall before.

So good luck and be confident.

there are only 8 ivies ^^^

nice

wow ur schools sure does have LOTS of honor societies.........my school i think only has...ONE -- NHS. lol

Your URM status will be what gets you in if in fact you are accepted. Affirmative Action FTW? I give you a little over 50% chance of acceptance. Please pardon my bitterness and/or cynicism (I'm Asian :().

yea asians have it pretty bad when it comes to these stuff.........i hate it

i hate being a Chinese applying to ivies. its seriously an asian party at the admission offices. We get regressive affirmative actions haha

^ Totally agree.
I went to see a college counselor.
She saw I was asian and asked what ethnicity I was.
Me: "Oh, I'm Chinese"
Her: "I see... Well THAT's a disadvantage"
Me: :(
LOL

Your SATs are exceptionally low, but your GPA/transcript reflects a diligent, mindful student. Your URM status will likely mitigate your SATs, thus, you are a competitive applicant.

awww i would just laugh that off and be like, "i know! it kinda sucks right?"

if the schools don't like me b/c i'm asian and there r too many asians applying...then what can i say? still, it's not like asians make up a great portion of the entire enrollment pool. ya ya i know...it's b/c most asians r competitive and want to go to the ivies. whatever lol

hey i just took the act and it went up to a 32 =], also i have my math II scores (720) so i figured i would update:

i think u have a really good shot esp if ur african american. good luck!! ;)

Hey guys, could you explain why being Asian is a disadvantage? I always thought one stood a better chance of being a minority?

^no - not all
Asian (Chinese and Korean in particular) are the worst races to be in terms of college admissions.
