^it’s a hook when you’re not a guy lol

The word “hook” just called. He says you guys use him too much.

Sorry chendrix I am applying to CAS. And bioblade if you build computers too that’s cool, but dont go around saying that its unimportant. Being able to put together a computer from scratch and get it running is not an easy task and not everyone can do it, in my opinion it is worth mentioning. What things are important to mention in “your application”? (just interested)

It takes two hours tops, if you have done “a lot”, like you said.
Putting together a computer is like assembling a lego toy - all the instructions are there, all you need to do is be careful and get the static out of your has before touching the parts.

I came here at 13,at 8th grade, only knowing how to sing the abcd song. (I was exuberant for getting 700 in CR)
I never even considered that that would be a “hook” tho.
i mean it was a good excuse to give to english and history teachers to excuse me for not participating lol.
but no… its not a hook sry.

immigrant a hook? what?

If you’ve been to Toronto (or any other multicultural city), you’d know that the immigration experience is a very common one. I think it’s like 50% of the population are immigrants or something.

So if you think that being an immigrant is special, then you might as well think liking sushi is special.

Unless there are no ESL classes and you’re trying to explain why you got a B in Grade 9 English, I’m not so sure mentioning that you’re an immigrant would be a significant plus in your application (unless you write this absolutely brilliant essay on it).

I agree with ttyl8. I immigrated to Toronto when I was 14, took around 2 ESL courses and got 60 on my grade 10 English. but I don’t think that gives me any more opportunities than other native students. Plus, in my point of view, immigrating at an age of 7 does not really make you culturally diverse. If I were you, I should quit dreaming that being an immigrant will bring me the offer, and work hard in other aspects. I personally did not mention anything about immigrating in my resume.

And really, you should try to listen to others.
