How are my summer activities looking?

Hey guys! So my first day of summer is officially today (hurrah!) and I’m not sure if my summer activities are solid enough to seem productive. I’m a rising sophomore, which unfortunately limits a LOT of things I wanted to do this summer. Here’s what I’ve got on the list:

-Taking Anatomy & Physiology (online)
-Summer swim team
-Attending internationals for a Scenario Writing competition
-Attending Summer Seminars at local art & design university under $500 scholarship (for writing)

I really wanted to volunteer at a hospital or animal shelter, but the age limit for virtually everything and anything around here is 16. Other than what’s listed above, I’m planning on doing summer homework, studying for upcoming classes, studying for a few upcoming competitions next year, getting my required 30 hours of classroom drivers ed out of the way (ugh), and relaxing (writing/reading/Netflix!).

If you guys have any recommendations about what good activities to complete this summer that 15 year-olds are actually able to do, please let me know! I do want to volunteer this summer, but I really want it to be something I enjoy. I tried tutoring kids over the school year, and it was just not my cup of tea. Unfortunately, everywhere I DO want to volunteer seems to have age restrictions. My main two passions are science (healthcare-related) and writing (preferably creative, but anything works). If anybody knows anything that would fit under those two categories, please let me know!

Thank you, and I hope everyone has a good summer!!

Humblebrag?

Your summer is fine.

More like extreme insecurity, lol, but thanks.

Not curing cancer this summer? Tsk, tsk.

But seriously, just enjoy your summer…

That is already a packed summer! Please remember to enjoy your youth while you have it.

There’s really no need to assess your summer, haha. Just relax and charge your batteries for next school year.

You’re bragging about your summer so that you feel accomplished and secure (hence your insecurity comment), though that’s pretty much 95% of college confidential, so I don’t blame you. Also, I’m going to assume that you are worried because of college admissions, as it is with 99% of all high school students.

Anyway, as a rising sophomore, you should enjoy summer. Stop worrying about whether you have enough activities or not. Do you really honestly think you don’t have enough planned over the summer, or are you worried because you want to be competitive for college applications/you want compliments to feel assured that you’re competitive enough? If the latter, then calm down and relax; high school has just begun and you should stop worrying or else you’ll burn out.

Relax and enjoy your summer. Stop worrying about how you compare to others. Leave all that unneeded stress for the school year.

That’s a great summer!

If you truly wanted to (from your heart, not just for college) you could volunteer with an animal rescue. They’re usually at PetSmart on the weekends, and the two I was involved in didn’t have age limits.

Do you belong to a house of worship? If so you could volunteer there.
