It’s harder to get in if you are from Texas. Easier if you are from North Dakota or Wyoming.</p>
<p>Your GPA is not very high for Rice and the 4’s in your AP tests are kind of average when you compare it to a typical Rice student. You can give yourself a little boost by visiting and showing lots of interest. If you can’t visit, try to find a Rice student or alum to talk to. They will ask you in the Rice supplementary portion of the common app if you have visited and what kind of contact you have had with Rice students, alum and/or faculty. Do your best to demonstrate interest. Email a professor in the department you are interested in. </p>
