How are you guys coping with the wait for college results?

I am seriously checking my mail box everyday even though I know that my results wont be here until April 1st. I've tried not to think about it but I can't and its driving me insane. Is it just me or do you guys feel really vulnerable waiting for results that could potentially dash your dreams.

I dnt know what to do!!!!!!

“checking my mail box everyday even though I know that my results wont be here until April 1st”
Yeah, lawl, me too. Yesterday I got an email from one of the colleges I applied to and nearly had a heart attack. Was just some form email to all applicants :(

I’m trying to keep busy so I don’t think about it too much. Not really working so far.

I don’t really freak that much. The only sort of obsessive thing I do is keep a countdown app on my Mac’s dashboard. I mean, no matter what, I’m going somewhere awesome.

It’s a lot less burden if you (Like I do, and I think Millanclad does as well) hold an offer from a university that you would be super excited to attend already. That being said, I notice that I have been checking my inbox more than usual as a couple of the places to which I have applied do not have specific dates for mailing out descions (e.g. Caltech says that they send out descions in Mid-March, whatever that means).

However I don’t really have a coping strategy per se, as it is what it is and nothing can change that…

Me too. Its kinda sad actually.

Haha was it Midd? I almost got a heart attack at that too.

I’m busy with exams in school so that is keeping me distracted from college decisions. However, I still often find myself doodling my dream college’s name all over my books :).

^^Lol, yeah, it was Middlebury. It was like the anti-climax of my life.

well, considering i have been obsessive for months now…i think i will just continue to obsess over these next few weeks :]

I don’t know how any of you are surviving. I could not have handled the application season without EA (QB)!

Honestly, I’m not. I’m dyinngg! I’ve been checking the mail and my email obsessively every day.

Just three(ish) more weeks! =l

Medically induced coma.

I try to forget about it, and only start to get my hopes up again for responses the day before/of april 1st.

I already got accepted to my colleges… just waiting on financial aid results now. GAH! Definitely a stressful situation.

where have you guys applied?

Actually, there are schools with earlier admission dates. For example, MIT generally releases March 15, which is about a week away.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/458746-admission-notification-dates-2008-a-28.html

Personally, I’m just going to not think about it too much until like the last few days of march

Edit: Although it looks like quite a few of the colleges I’m still waiting on release Mar 25…

If not for a likely, I would have gone insane by now! Still waiting on first choice though…

Haha! I check my mailbox every day… come on CC, sign into my college-related email and profile online (*****), and talk all day about college (or at least think it).

It’s so bad. sigh The only time I really forget about it is when I’m playing guitar or something. I’ve been going crazy ever since I got my first acceptance to Ithaca on Jan. 25 :(

I rush to my mailbox every day after school and usually there is nothing for me -_- I check my online statuses at a couple colleges at least twice a day. Hopefully after March 15 I start hearing back. April 1 needs to come faster. ahhhh I hate waiting.

MIT is March 14th, because that is Pi day (3/14, 3.14…get it?). Anyone that does not know that doesn’t deserve to go there, lol.

^ Lol when I read about that, I thought that that was the most wittiest thing a college has ever done. Oh and the time is at 1:59
