Don’t worry, I was scared out of my mind that I couldn’t understand chi-squared distributions or the even more treacherous inference procedure for linear regression of slopes (mainly because I kept trying to not fall asleep) … but in the end I read the textbook on my own and did pretty well on the test.

Basically, when interpreting the conclusions from inference procedures, I use a “fill-in-the-blanks” approach. For instance, when doing t or z tests, I use a mental template:

“With a (small/large) P-value of (state P-value and whether it’s greater than a given alpha), we (reject/fail to reject) the null hypothesis that (state null hypothesis). There is (insufficient/sufficient) evidence to suggest that (state null hypothesis).”

I don’t know what the heck I’m saying, but the teacher doesn’t take off any points when I say it this way :D

@ TCBH: that’s cuz ure good at math. so everything is automatically easy for you! lol

Oh, and a teacher’s solutions manual bought off of eBay doesn’t hurt, cause stats is mainly busy work. If you know your concepts extremely well, then you’ll pass the AP for sure.

Our teacher makes us do what NinjaPlz did, but then something like “If the null hypothesis is true, there is a ______ % chance of getting a value of ________ or more extreme with a sample size of _____” or something like that. Is that necessary or can we just conclude with the decision on the null?

To Cody:
Usually there’s a follow-up question after the conclusion asking for you to “interpret the P-value.” For the follow-up on the P-value, you’ll have to say that.

question to all who have taken the AP Statistic Test:

are you allowed to use your Ti-89 ie the note-folio in your TI-89 ie have information in there? i mean, i understand most concepts, but the reminders always help ;)

^ what’s a note-folio? I want one.

OMG, they’re the best thing, like, in existence. let me tell you, cody. i’m pretty technologically-illiterate, so i only know about this because our physics teacher encourages us to use them for all of our tests, bless his heart <3 it’s this application that comes on the ti-89 & you can write full notes/formulas/hints to yourself & check it during tests :]

Ahh hook me up!! Is it free and where/how do you get it? Because I’m pretty sure they don’t check your calculators for that. And putting notes in “Program” is a friggin pain.

But then again it’s kind of cheating =/

I know for AP Calculus that they will only check what kind of calculator you use, but will not clear your memory. So that means you can use whatever programs you want, pretty much.

^ Ah thats legit. googles note-folio

“I know for AP Calculus that they will only check what kind of calculator you use, but will not clear your memory. So that means you can use whatever programs you want, pretty much.”

omg, SCORE <3

cody, do you have the ti-89? it should be one of the programs that it comes with.

^Yup I do. Is it under apps?

yep, go to apps, then ‘notefolio’ is right in the center, then you can go to ‘new’, name it, & voila :)

lol I agree with Noli. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen ThisCouldBeHeavn express any sort of emotion whatsoever, much less an exclamation mark, unless it was one with song lyrics.

^^ You are my hero.

OK, I haven’t taken AP Stats, but I know that this can help you. This is a priceless resource:
[Khan Academy](<a href=“Khan Academy | Free Online Courses, Lessons & Practice”>Khan Academy | Free Online Courses, Lessons & Practice)

Haven’t taken AP stats but I heard from a lot of my friends that it’s very easy :)

Wow, nolimetangere, way to be a d***** with that shameless self-promotion
