How are your classes graded? (points,categories,etc)

<p>All I teachers I've met use it by categories. For ex. 50% tests, 30% homework 20% classwork. But what I don't like about it is that sometimes the teacher only assigns something from a category once. So if we only get one classwork assignment a semester and you get an F unfortunately with 5/10 bam you only get 10% from classwork, resulting in an A- with 90% and everything else (HW,test) at 100%.</p>

<p>I would very much prefer the point method. Where all the points add up together and divided by total to give your grade %.</p>

<p>My classes are split down the line with 1/2 being categories and 1/2 being point method. </p>

<p>I much prefer the point method because bad category grades don’t always reflect the big picture (one bad test and 100 100% quizzes still net a failing grade).</p>
