I have the Premiere 2008 edition. I've heard many bad things about basically every book that is not the blue book. But the issue is that I have completed the blue book and still need more practice. So exactly how bad is kaplan and is it NOT RECOMMENDED to use this book?

Let's see......the math sections absolutely SUCK. like...they are not even close to the real questions. but still it's pretty good practice because they sometimes give you good hard problems.

critical reading and writing are okay.

Bad, Bad, Bad. Not worth the dime .... Did not improve over all ... did all the work, studied, was engaged... didnt help... And Kapland measures the refund again the very first SAT one has ever taken. So if you took it in 8th or 9th grade that is the line they compare it too.

I thought Kaplan was a decent book.

You think so? I felt that their critical reading is pretty bad

Don't know about the Premiere book, but the Comprehensive was too easy. At least in the Math sections. The questions were just way easier than the actual SAT.

I like the 12 SAt practices by Kaplan. Yes the math section is probably on the easier side but the critical reading and the writing portions are good. If anything, I would NOT SOLELY RELY ON THE BLUE BOOK ONLY for SAT practice. From taking the SAt twice, I've realized that the blue book DOES NOT QUITE ACCCURATELY REFLECT WHAT IS ON THE ACTUAL TEST. At least for me, the Critical Reading sections tend to be out of chronology(so do not expect that they would be coming in nice order). For best practice, do exercises from Princeton, Kaplan, B&B as well as others. That's what i'm doing at least for myself.

The math section is ridiculously easy. There are like NO hard problems compared to the BB.
The writing and critical reading however are fairly accurate.
At least you get some practice
