Good afternoon everyone,
It seems like my 710 in Physics SAT is the biggest weakness in my application.
I applied for very competitive schools like MIT, Harvard and all the other top universities.
I want to know if this HORRIBLE SCORE will keep out and will cause my rejection there.
Facts to mention:
Self Studied for the exam
Top of the high school at physics for the past three years: 19.23/20
We study physics in French at school so I had to learn all the technical words by myself.
What do you think people? Be as objective as possible Thank you
A 710 is a good score. It’s not going to make or break your admissions decision. If you are a physics or engineering major you might want to retake it if you feel you can do better, but anything 700+ is fine on subject tests.
My general understanding is that to be a plus, SAT II scores should be 750 or above but if you have an otherwise strong application, a 710 is not going to make the difference. If you can take it again, that would be good. Do you have other strong subject test scores?
Like everybody said, it won’t help or hurt your app, which in your situation, is decent since you say it’s your only weakness. I got a 750 and I don’t even think it will help that much.
