how bad is a B?

I have a B+ in AP English and B- for spanish in junior year;
and one B+ first quarter of senior year in Government.

will that be a major blow to my application?
considering that my freshman and sophomore year were nearly perfect 4.0?

If it helps to answer, all my other APs are A's, and my rank is 5/117 weighted

Thank you!

In addition: because I’m really afraid that they’ll think I’m slacking off, when I haven’t. Since my grades trend seem to be going downwards.

Thank youuuu to whoever answers

2 B+'s and a B- over two years is not a downward trend. Whether you get accepted or rejected will not be as a result of a couple of B’s.

You can pull up your Government grade. Colleges don’t typically ask to see seniors’ first quarter grades (that I know of, I guess some might).

Actually, since you’re posting this in a Cornell board, I’m assuming that you know that they do want to see your first quarter grades haha.

@ribbonroad224‌
ty for the reply,

and yeah, lol. Also, I’m applying ED, so I won’t get a chance to pull up Gov grades.

The best guess is that they may defer their decision. Nobody but they know of course. And that might have been true anyway. But if they don’t want to lose you, they will still accept you. So, if you have amazing credentials except this semester grades, they could still accept you. Are you worth the risk? Might Cornell be sorry if you went some place else? That is probably the issue to consider.

@lostaccount‌ wow. that’s a really nice way to put it.

what b’s are a downward trend? I thought…oh that means I’ve been a failing kid all this time and I still got into college? :?

@silvermightedm‌ depends on what college.

@CeLcel private Illinois Tech (not itt tech, they’re fake) with a full scholarship

CeLcel.

Really short answer – a couple of Bs shouldn’t be fatal to an otherwise strong application. I wouldn’t worry overly about it.
