So I am applying to supposed less mainstream colleges (St. John's College, Evegreen State College, New College of Florida, Shimer College, College of Wooster) and for some reason or another never really saw Reed College for what it was, but now that I have, I'm intrigued. But unfortunantely, I found out about the school rather late, as the regular decision is in 10 days, which would make it tough for me to find recs to send in such short notice. Would it be disastrous if I didn't turn any or just one? Would it be better to send them later? Is an interview requiered? I'm pretty stressed, but I just want to know what I can do.

I think you would need two recommendations under any condition for your application file to be complete (you could e-mail the Admission Office to confirm). The good thing however, is, once you’ve sent all the preliminary materials (such as transcripts, Common App forms etc.), Reed gives you till March 1st or somewhere around then to submit any material that leaves your application incomplete. This is the way it worked in last year’s Admission cycle. I suggest confirming all of this with the Admission Office though. Also, an interview isn’t required, but is strongly encouraged, and if you happen to have an alumni interviewer in your area or can visit and interview, I’d urge you to do so. Don’t be stressed. Good luck!
