How Badly did I screw up?

Let me say first: UMAA is my #1 school. One I’ve wanted to get into for years and years. I was rejected out of high school but am applying as a junior transfer with a 4.0 from a MI community college.

I am also poor, with an EFC of 0.

I’m emailing my college list requests for a CSS Profile fee waiver, because the college board apparently needs my poor money, because I’m a transfer, not a first time domestic student.

I made an email on Word that said everything I needed to say to all the colleges (a “form” letter) with XXX in place of the college name, to be filled in as I sent the letter to their fin aid office.

You can see where this is going.

I sent my letter to the UM fin aid office without subbing “University of Michigan” for “XXX”. I’ve got to be the dumbest 4.0 ever.

I realized it right away, and emailed them an apology, saying I was extremely embarrassed in my lack of proof reading.

I’m also having a mild anxiety attack right now over my stupidity.

Is this going to affect me other than being a laughing stock in their office??

Try replying to your original email with the updated message. They might not look at the first email in the chain, only the RE: email

I already replied apologizing profusely and saying it was a lack of proof reading I was embarrassed by.

If it encourages more responses I will admit that I am a more frequent poster (300+ posts) who only created this account because I am so embarrassed by what I did. I’m not the t-word. D:

Fin Aid is not Admissions. I think you will be fine.
