All the math courses were honors
So I got 1 B in freshman year with Geo. honors
3 B is in sophmore (2 in Alg 2. honors and 1 in Ap Chem)
1 B in junior year (1 in precalc honors)
My ACT is a 35 and I have a 1550. My ec’s are pretty good. My overall gpa from 9-11th grade will be a 3.86 unweighted. How will this impact me for T20’s?
You’re fine. It would be better without it but it won’t be the deciding factor.
Your GPA is still in the ballpark, so that helps. You’ll have a better chance if you are not a STEM major, though.
Where does your GPA fall within your school? Does your school rank? IMO, that will give you a better sense of if you’ll be competitive at a T20. Also look at your school’s Naviance data if available.
I also agree with ^ that if you are planning on any type of STEM field, you’ll need to cast a much wider net.
I am planning on going into business and our school does not rank but we are top 5 in the state and very competitive.
First, congratulations on your (otherwise) perfect GPA and your amazing test scores! Look, no one is excellent in every single thing they do. I suspect that having your Bs concentrated in one subject is better than having the same number of Bs spread out.
However, I may be wrong but to my knowledge there are not many schools with undergraduate business programs, so you may have to major in a related field like finance or accounting–and, of course, finance is a lot of upper-level math. Good luck!
