Hi all, I know this has probably been answered before, but I can't find it in the CC search engine so I'm trying here :)

I'm sitting the May SAT. At this stage, is it best just to do loads of practice tests and improve off those?

We need more information.

What’s your current score, have you prepped before, etc…?

If you haven’t done the blue book tests, I would recommend going through those thoroughly, and checking whatever you get wrong.

Blue book arrives at my address by 19 Apr (due to slow postal service).

I haven’t taken the SAT before, but I have done a few practice tests and took the College Board Official SAT Practice Test 2008-9 and 2009-10.

The scores I received for these were:

2009-10
M 800
MC W 78

2008-9
M 760

I haven’t taken the CR on either of these yet, but plan to shortly. My CR is currently my worst on other practice tests (SparkNotes CR 700, Peterson’s 650-700).

Memorize barrons vocab list

Barrons have two vocab lists 3500 words and 1000 words. Try 1000 first and then move on to 3500.

Just use Direct Hits. I don’t see the reason to memorize 3500 words.

Direct Hits has the best vocab. Don’t use practice tests that aren’t real. I think there are a few other real tests floating around on the internet…but I’m not sure where. You can check around on CC.

For CR, just keep doing practice passages. And if you’ve run out, PM me.
