How big are the intro science classes like chem, bio, etc.

Just wanted to know what the size of the classes were like in terms of students.

I had an intro class for anthropology that was about 150 students, but my intro to psych class was only about 75. It seems like most intro classes are around 100, although this year the intro science classes had an abnormally large amount of students.

Somewhere between 75 and 200, depending on the subject. Physics and intro chem are usually huge as they are a requirement for many majors. Once you pass sophomore year, the class size drops.

Fall Semester: physics was somewhere between 250-300 I believe, and chemistry was around 150 in each section.

You can find class size data here: http://courses.rice.edu/</a>. You just need to search “chem” for chemistry, “phys” for physics, or “bioc” or “ebio” for biosciences.
