How large are the classes?

Hi. I'm interested in Smith, Wellesley, and Mount Holyoke. They all sound great, but I'm mainly looking for small classes. It seems to me that Wellesley classes are like public high school class sizes, I don't know about Smith. I'm especially interested in how large the science classes (intro chem, bio, & physics classes) are.

Thanks!

It depends. Chem and bio have the largest class sizes (no more than 60ish or so though), whereas physics classes tend to be pretty small. The more popular the class, the larger it will be unless the prof caps enrollment.

Average class size is 17, though obviously intro chem and bio classes will be much bigger like smithiegr says.

Thanks:)

Hmmm...seems smaller than Wellesley...

If you've already had chemistry, the advanced intro chem class was only about 30ish this year. Labs are capped at about 16 for all chem classes.
