How big of a role do SAT Subject Tests play in admissions?

<p>I just signed up for the US History, Math 2, and Biology exams. I am not very confident about taking them, considering I only have one month to study.</p>

<p>So, are they really important at CMU? If I get my projected score (in the 600s) for each, will that hurt my application?</p>

<p>Everything noted as a required ap component assumes a role. SATII subject tests vary across schools in their importance.</p>

<p>Scores in the 600s are VERY low.</p>

<p>If you are in CIT, MCS or CS-- History and Bio are uninteresting-- Chem or Physics are requested. Scores 700 plus are best.</p>

<p>If you’re in H&SS it’s fine, you can get away with 600’s. But not for MCS/CIT/SCS.</p>
