How can I answer this question?

So I'm applying as a freshman to UMD College Park, and i plan on answering the following question:

According to Henry David Thoreau, “One is not born into the world to do everything, but to do something.” What is your something?

Honestly, I do not know what I was meant to do. Would it be inappropriate or considered to be not answering the question if I discuss how I do not know what "my something" is? Or would it be wiser to try to find a way to come up with a "something"?

Any advice would be really appreciated!

“Would it be inappropriate or considered to be not answering the question if I discuss how I do not know what “my something” is?”

This could work if you connect it to how you are planning to use your college experience to help you find your “something.”

Anyway, essays don’t matter that much for admission to public collges. They admit students mainly based on academic stats and state of residence, with in-stsate students being preferred.
