How can I become a pediatric oncology nurse?

Im not sure if i have this mixed up, so i need some type of confirmation… Im currently going to be a senior in high school and my top choice for college is Cal State Los Angeles. After i graduate high school and if i get accepted to CSULA, do i apply to a BSN program or do i take pre reqs and all my other classes such as English, Math, etc… first ? Or are the pre reqs included in the BSN program? I don’t want to get my ADN, i would rather get my BSN because of the higher education. After i get my BSN, whats next so i can work as a pediatric oncology nurse?

You do not need any special coursework as part of your BSN degree to do that. You might take a child psychology class as an elective. After you start work, you can seek to take advantage of whatever training and grad coursework is offered or funded by your employer. There are some certifications that can be obtained after graduation, such as the following:

There also is at least one free oncology nursing magazine that you can receive as a student. My daughter gets it.

Describes the process to be accepted as a nursing major at Cal State LA. Make sure you apply to multiple colleges, because nursing programs in California are more competitive than in many other states.

If you can find another college that will guarantee your admission to the nursing program directly from high school, that is preferable.
