Okay so i’ve wanted to attend SDSU since I was kid. Both my parents graduated from SDSU, majored in civil engineering and another in business administration. I live in Southern California. Could this in anyway benefit my chances at getting accepted? My GPA as of now is 3.3 possibility 3.5 after this semester… SAT: 1040 (I plan to retake it in 2 weeks) I’d love to major in economics or marketing but I know how impacted these majors are. Anyone have an idea of what the most least impacted majors are? I’ve heard health science/nutrition maybe less impacted. Anything would help thanks!!
SDSU admits by eligibility index and major.
You need to calculate your CSU/UC GPA (capped weighted) at the end of Junior year: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Then calculate your Eligibility index: (CSU GPA x 800) + (SAT Math + EBRW). You want to target an EI of at least 4100+.
SDSU is an impacted campus meaning all majors are impacted so there is really no easy way into the school. They are far more qualified applicants than spots, so pick the major you plan to study for the next 4 years.
The more popular majors are Psychology, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, Kinesiology, Business Adminstration, Business Management, Business Marketing, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Nursing.
SDSU does not consider legacy in their admission decisions.
Economics and Marketing have similar acceptance rates around 35% but Marketing has around 3 times as many applicants than Econ. You might want to select Econ.
Hey @Gumbymom I got into Sdsu with Anthropology for the fall semester of 2018. Now that I got admitted I want to change my major to psychology. Is it possible to change majors?
You can change majors but you need to talk to an advisor at orientation what you need to do.
