How can I get off the waitlist?

What kinds of things should I do to show William and Mary that I would DEFINITELY attend if taken off the waitlist? I've thought about writing a letter or calling admissions, but I can't decide which would be more effective.

William and Mary is my first choice by far and I am open to any and all advice concerning what I should do to gain admission. Does anyone have any ideas?

ya me too! and is being on the waitlist a binding decision...the letter i got wasn't really clear...

At most schools, waitlist is non binding. If they have an open, you are offered a spot. Have relative short period of time to confirm or reject. (3 days or so) Not certain W&M specifics but should be similar. Good luck! Daughter hasn't decided W&M or UVA.

UVA! haha just kidding...i hope she chooses what's best for her!

The best thing to do is call the admissions office and send them a letter reaffirming your interest. Then pray.

Send a letter and / or call. Let them know that you will attend. If you've done anything else of note, send it with your letter.

Being on the waitlist is not binding, as momray said.

If you're a strong candidate, your chances are good that you'll get accepted. It's important to remember that not everyone who's been initially accepted will attend the college - and admissions is well aware of that fact. Be sure to demonstarte your continued interest in the school and why you wish to be a part of the next freshman class. Soccerguy gave great advice! Good luck!
