ND is by far my #1 choice for colleges, but is still quite a reach (GPA 3.75uw/3.91w & 1330/1980 SATs).

Putting aside the fact that ND is definitely a reach school for me: how can I show more interest to the school? Will this help me chance for admission? Is my chance for admission at the moment decent/unlikely/impossible? Should I bother showing the interest I truly have in ND?

These are just a few questions I have. Thanks for bothering to answer any of them.

Although your stats are lower than ND’s standards, that does not mean you can’t get in. If you have any hooks, they will definitely help. The best way to express interest in ND is through your essays. Make sure they are written well and show passion. Other than that, there is really no other way to help you get in. Just put the best application together and hope for the best. Good luck!

Same. Some friends of mine were denied with a 4.0 (or all A’s, just to clarify because each scale is done differently) and 720-740 on each SAT section for Early Acceptance. That doesn’t mean that you will not get in, but working on your essays is probably your best shot at standing out and being offered admission. Remember this year is also going to be harder with the increase of applicants due to football team success
