How colleges view summer activities...

Do you think colleges would like it more if one attended Stanford’s High School Summer College and got straight A’s in 3 college-level courses or if one got a summer job, volunteered at a local hospital, and pursued other summer interests?

be well-rounded (or at least look it!)

I don't think it really matters. Some applicants did many things like volunteering, interning and work while others attended summer camps. I guess just make sure that you spend your summer the way you like it.

All of you are crazy! Go to summer camp and have a little fun!

follow your passions- it'll show through.

Im going to summer college and doing all of those things...

I mean a normal summer camp, where you don't take college courses

Are there even any camps that take kids our age? And trust me, there is a lot of fun to be had at summer college. It's basically college with a little more recklessness..

Haha maybe I'm not giving it a fair chance. Well, I'm going to be a counselor at an overnight cam and thats basically like I'm a camper becasue all the counselors grew up together as campers. I guess people have fun different ways...For me, summer is a nice break from all things academic

Ah, I see where you're coming from. The only non-academic camps I ever went to were religious, so they were fun big still mind bending. Basically, I break out into hives if I don't touch a book for more than a week.

hahaha to each his own. As long as you're having fun
