I thought it wasn't supposed to be in L&S?
And when the school says they don't consider the intended major, will they really accept 1000 biology majors?

every school considers majors!!

majors in letters and science are not taken into consideration. however, just about any other college in ucla will (i.e. engineering)

they probably would accept 1000 biology majors, but they also know all 1000 will not leave ucla with a biology degree. a lot of students will decide to switch majors during their tenure here

Thanks misterr.

I know there is every reason to trust UCLA with that, but the posts in last year's decisions thread was just so very convinced that it was a factor. Was that just craziness?

sometimes girls get accepted easier into engineering majors...because they want to balance out the ratio between male and female students in that area, which is kind of unfair.

well at least SEAS admits to considering majors, I'm just confused by the L&S policy.

But you're right, that totally blows.
