How common is the we're interested in you email?

Son received this email:

"Dear ABC, Admission to Dartmouth is need-blind ... we’re interested in you, your talents, and your potential–not your ability to pay. ...."

Just wondering how common is it? Do all applicants receive it?

Thanks,

I think everyone got this e mail.

its interesting because not only have I not gotten this email, but I also have not been able to log into the applicant portal with the username and PIN they gave me (directly copied and pasted it)…

Just to be sure, what is the URL for applicant portal?

@Volynsal1
Just checking, but you are making sure that you are copy/pasting ONLY what they gave you and no spaces before or after? I had the same problem first few times since they had like 3 spaces afterwards that I didn’t notice were included in my copy/pasting… check?
Otherwise email them about it I suppose.

Lmao I accidentally added 2 digits to the PIN for no reason… But I still haven’t gotten an email

Lol is it probably cuz I didn’t apply for financial aid?

^^ very possible

The email is generic. Just a confirmation that you applied for aid!! Actually the “Subject” field itself reads -“Financial Aid status update”!! :)

I didn’t apply for aid either but I got the email.

I didn’t apply for financial aid but still got the email.

Did you guys also already submit your IDOC stuff?

@laborator & undercover - All the more reason for believing that it’s a generic mail!!

@volynsal - Correct me if am wrong but IDOC is to be submitted only when the colleges ask for it.

^^ Incorrect. It is the applicant’s responsibility (if seeking financial aid) to submit the required documents to the College Board; the IDOC system then sends the packet to the identified schools. [IDOC Instructions](<a href=“Home | Financial Aid”>Home | Financial Aid)

Not even a senior…never applied. Got the email. Maybe generated by PSAT/SAT results?
T

@taben1112 - That is a different mail you received. Which is more of a marketing email make you apply to Dartmouth.

The one present applicants received is like an e-mail update.
