how competitive is Gtown/why does everyone say transferring is easier?!?!

Hey, i'm applying to harvard, yale, penn, brown and georgetown from bowdoin in maine and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me that georgetown is at least easier to get into than the other four. I'm really worried that I won't get into any of these five schools and then I will be in big trouble because bowdoin requires a deposit before I hear back! What's the acceptance rate for transfers at georgetown like? Is it markedly less competitive than admission at the ivies?

oh and does anyone agree that college admissions is the most evil thing to happen to the world....ever

oh and i read that whole "are you going to send midterm grades to brown" discussion and it seems to me... if they wanted them, they'd ask for them

Are you a transfer applicant who already was accepted to bowdoin?

no i'm a freshman at bowdoin

GU is easier than the Ivies. that is all i know since it's what the numbers say.

Georgetown College's transfer rate has hovered around 25%; McDonough's is around 30%, and the SFS is in the teens. So it depends on your major.

i'd be an english/history major in the college

then yes, Georgetown is considerably easier than the other schools you're applying to and a match probably (if you have pretty good stats at Bowdoin) but you should find a safety.
