I doubt I'm going to transfer, but Georgetown was originally my first choice last year and I was waitlisted and then extended waitlisted, and they told me I should apply for a transfer... So I'm just wondering, what's the biggest factor in their decision to accept transfer students? I'm pretty sure my SAT score was the reason I didn't get in last year (2050) but does that count for a lot now? Or does my grade at my current school count more? I got a 4.0 first semester, so would that significantly improve my chances?

I'm hoping that sat's will still matter for georgtown transfers and that gpa won't be that significant... I go to a top 10 LAC (bowdoin) and my gpa isn't all that great (B/B+) average, but I'm banking on my high sat's, good professor rec's and the quality of my current school (I'm tempted to think that a b+ at bowdoin is equivalent to a b+/a- at gtown).... but we'll see

i was just at georgetown i myself am looking to transfer after 24 credits from wherever i go to undergrad. basically....its your college gpa that gets you in they were (graduate students that is) telling me that they ask for sats and h.s transcripts yeah but more so its basically how high of a college gpa do you have and what have you done intern wise work wise ec's and recs count more in transfer admissions then when applying from high school

well yeah the guy told me that if your gpa is high after your first semester of freshman year that you should just apply then cause the deadline is march 1st but if you need more time that works too....one must bear in mind that last year though 1,523 applied ( i believe) and about 376 got in its competitive but i mean the college gpa is what it is.
