So I'm nearing the end of my first semester at Georgetown University, and for reason I'm not really going to go into, I am considering transferring elsewhere (don't get me wrong, GU is a great school, I'm just not sure it was the best match for me). Anyway, as a question for anyone who is familiar with transfer admissions, how competitive would I be to transfer to Yale with a 4.0 from Georgetown? (all else equal) What about transferring to places like Columbia, Dartmouth, Stanford, Brown, or UPenn? I dont have my final grades yet for my classes but I am anticipating straight A's almost certainly.

There are lots of threads about Yale transfers. Check them out. A 4.0 from Georgetown would put you in a very good position, but the transfer rate is obscenely low. You need to articulate a really good reason for wanting to transfer and the generic stuff about why Yale is great that works for high school applicants doesn't cut it for transfers.

kovax, do you mind saying why Georgetown is not the school for you? I am applying to Georgetown (along with Yale!) but I too am not sure Georgetown is "the school for me". I'd love to hear about it from someone who goes there. You can PM me if you want.
