Hey guys. Sorry this must be an annoying question for those that are sitting at the edge of their chairs and just want answers to their "status page" dilemnas, but a quick question.

I know that business, music, and engineering and such are pretty competitive to get into at USC. How about the major of sociology? Is it competitive too? Like how many people get admitted to the major?

Sorry to be such a stickler, but the film department ain't easy cake either.

But to answer your question, in general CLAS isn't as academically intensive as the other departments. However, you must understand that really, if your stats are on par or even worse, on bogey, with the averages reported by USC, then your chances of getting into ANY department isn't quite as solid as they would be if they were birdies and eagles. Really, you gotta shoot birdies and eagles.

So, don't do the whole is this department easier than that department crap. It's like going to a Victoria Secret Fashion Show and ruminating, "Well is Alessandra Ambrosio easier to get into or Marisa Miller?" You know what? They're both hard as hell to get into, so unless you're Brad Pitt, or a black man with some sea animal as a name, then you're going home supermodel-less.

Really, if you've got good stats, you've got good stats. If you don't, well, there's always UCLA.
