How did full paying students do at early admissions?

Well, call me old-fashioned. I think that those discussions are appropriate between the parents and the child, of course, but that one’s own financial circumstances aren’t anyone else’s business. And if my child made a point of speculating about some other family’s financial status based on what they saw (cars, house, vacations, etc.), I would tell them that you NEVER know what someone else’s financial situation is (how do you know they’re not in debt up to their eyeballs? are paying back their own student loans? have a medical condition that isn’t public knowledge? are supporting grandma and grandpa?). And I’d tell them to learn to mind their own business.

I don’t do these discussions with my D at home that is why I’m here at this board. Second there is no guessing here all are facts. I’m not trying to read thru someone else financials based on the cars they drive or houses they live.
If according to the GC if there are > 95% of the students not receiving any FA in any fashion and GC recommends not applying for FA at all then those 95% of the students are going to be full pay.

So sorry I didn’t clarify my earlier post…the students I referred to are actually all chldren of close friends…some of whom i assisted with the college process…
