Hey.
I am a junior in high school and scored a 700 on chemistry and 690 on US history ( took both AP tests as well, along with English and Psychology). Personally I think these scores aren't too too bad, especially since the schools I plan to apply to don't require them ( Stony Brook, other SUNYS and CUNYS.)
I know maybe for Harvard or NYU these scores are low, but I don't plan to apply to these type of schools.

Anyway, should I send these SAT II scores to schools like Stony Brook, Albany, Binghamton, Pace, CUNY schools ( including Mcaulay Honors)? I have a 101 cumulative average ( top 3 of my class) and will most likely score around 1900-2000 on the normal SAT ( that is where I scored on Kaplan's practice test.)

Would sending my SAT subject test scores help or hinder my college application? Would it be better to wait and see how I do on AP tests this July?
Thanks for any advice!

Both those scores are between the 50th and 60th percentile. While the pool of test takers is quite self-selecting, I wouldn’t say they would necessarly hurt your app, but I don’t think they would help too much. I don’t know about the selectivity of NY state schools, but I assume they are not incredibly discerning, so I don’t think they would make much of a difference.

As a rule of thumb, though, if you do want to submit SAT 2’s try to score at least 700 on them. I’d recommend trying for a 2000 on the SAT as well. Little differences, like 690 vs 1990, are big differences to the human eye and many admissions people probably see both those scores somewhat as academic-level thresholds (i.e. they might think you are well prepared if at or above them vs adequately prepared below them).

And yes, if you do not think these scores adequately reflect your proficiency in those subjects then good AP scores would be beneficial.

Also, does your school use Naviance? If it does, you should compare your PSAT scores and possible SAT scores to students from your school who have been accepted at the schools you’re interested in.

According to my daughter’s Naviance school link, here are the average SAT scores of accepted students for some of the schools you’ve listed:
CUNY–Macaulay Honors: 1993
SUNY Albany: 1750
Stony Brook: 1950
Binghamton: 1930

It will also tell you how many students from your school apply to those schools and what percentage are accepted. For example 49% of students from her school who applied to Stony Brook were accepted as opposed to Stony Brook’s overall 39% acceptance rate.

If your school doesn’t use Naviance, here’s a chart with SAT Scores for Admission to SUNY
