A bit depressed. I got a 29. English 33, Math 27, Reading 31 and Science 26. What kills me is that my best subjects are math and science at school! This was my first time taking it so hopefully I can go up. I'm looking at really selective schools and have a 4.0 GPA so I think I need to be at least a 31. Any advice? =-(

I got the same composite as in December, but w/e. Science and Reading both killed me.

I have another ACT on March 13 through the Michigan Merit Exam. And after that, I recieve another free ACT voucher.

Well, I guess this is what I expected because I got the same score on the last 2 practice tests I took...

COMPOSITE 29

Well, this was the first time, so I'm hoping I can improve (but I feel I'm doomed with these scores.) I'm in the same situation as you wheels. I hate English/Reading in real life, but my favorite/best subjects are math & science.

I accidentally threw away my registration stuff this time, so I tried using the Match ID from my ticket from the October test (the last one I took), and it finds my profile, but it says no registration exists for the Feb. test. Is this because they give different match IDs for each test or does it mean they simply don't have my scores up yet? If it's the former, does anyone know how I might get my new match ID for this test?

You can just use your social security # and birthdate.

first time taking it and after preparing a ton...

last time i got a 32, so yall should definitely have hope because i'm not really that smart!

I didn't give my social security number when registering, though. I tried using the ACT id they gave on my October score report, but I still get the same message:

"We do not find a Registration record for the national administration you selected. To verify Registration, please contact our customer service representatives at ACT Registration: 319/337-1270 (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. central time Monday through Friday). "

one question away from the beloved 35....

to nilkn: The same thing happened to my son past time. We just called that number and they looked it up for us. You still have to pay the $8. ( I can't remember if they gave us the score oever the phone or if they gave us the proper numbers to enter the info online. I am surprised the match ID didn't work though.....

Gah! Mine aren't out yet!

Have to wait longerrrrrrr

31 English

What are the chances it would go up if I took it again. I'm very happy with that score, but I had only taken 1 practice test before that so I'm wondering if I could improve after a 2nd try. Anybody?

ARGGHHH
"There are no scores for you from the February 10, 2007 national administration. It takes longer for some scores to become available. Scores will be added weekly throughout processing as quickly as situations such as Standby registrations, late receipt of answer sheets, or inconsistent identifying information are resolved. Please try again in a week."

auxsoleil, it probably doesn't make you feel any better, but my son got the same message. Very very frustrating!!

Does it really take a week for them to upload new scores?

Thanks momof2ky. I called and it turns out the match IDs change for each test. They gave me the new match ID and I got my scores.

As expected, I did much worse than last time.

Wow, Rick, way to raise your scores...what did you do to raise them so much, and when did you take it first? I'm just interested because it seems out scores are alot alike (both 27, before this one) and I jsut want to kno what helped you raise your score so much, if anything?

Me- 30 E

24-S

If i could raise mine to about that same as yours, I would be very happy..this was my first time taking it.

Also, I jsut realized that I accidentlly posted my scores wrong in a diff thread, and I can't edit it, but the Comosite was still 27 either way..

I just read the Princeton Review's Act Prep book (The English and Reading Section). IT teaches you how the questions are asked, especially the English. For the Math, I just tried to do a question, go on next one and not waste any time. Skip the hard questions and come back to them. For the Reading, skim over the questions before you read it just to get a clue about the characters and what the passage is going to be about. Then read the passage. Answer all the question you can without looking back at the story. Then go to the questions that you have to look at the story for and try to quickly find it. Save the hard questions, like the main idea, or whatever you find hard, for last. Don't spend too much time on any one question. For the Science, read only when you have to, which is usually just for the dueling scientists. Read the question, qucikly look at the graphs, or images and try to find the answer there.

There's nothing really new that you havn't heard probably, confidance also helps.

sigh... i just checked my scores...
