How did you do on the test day?

Hey, everyone who took the SAT october please take a moment to share your opinions or dicuss whatever you want...
Do you think this test is more difficult than the previous ones (June, May,etc)? And did you do better or worse on this test?

Central Europe here. First time for me, so I can't evaluate the level of difficulty in comparison with previously administered tests. As far as Blue Book tests are concerned... Writing/Maths appeared to be the same level, although I coped slightly better than usual. Can't comment on CR (4 sections)... Skipped a few questions, was lucky that there was no science stuff and that the sentence completions were easy (but I memorized the Barrons list)...
No idea how I did.

And not enough time for the essay (proctor called time when I wrote the first sentence of my conclusion, so yeah, thank you ets for the gradiose limit of 25 minutes).

I'm from East Asia and in my opinion, this time the test is more difficult than one in June. Yeah, I was screwed! the sentence completions were quite easy; however, the reading was hard to grasp and I didn't have enought time for the last two questions in each section. Good job, CollegeBoard!

honestly i felt pretty good about the test overall. ive gotten A LOT of sleep in the past two days so i was as mentally aware as i could be. the only thing that worries me is that i left 4 math open math questions blank...oh well **** it. i'm positive my score went up from the last time i took it.

well i just got back and i feel very good about the writing and math sections, especially math. sentence completion and passage were relatively good too, but that tends to be my worst section so i cant really say on that. essay was good too, topic was easy but i tried something new on my essay this time so lets see how that works out. overall, a very good feeling.

i didnt have a lot of sleep prior though, i was awake all night thursday, and got little sleep last night (but not because i was studying for SAT.) i hope that doesnt hurt my score much.

Yeah, I majorly procrastinated for the test and I went to sleep at 3 in the morning - I had my last tutoring session just the night before. I wasn't tired, but my neck was aching during the test. Althought that could be due to my bad eyesight too. Anyways, it was very easy overall, which was a nice surprise. The essay was a no-brainer, and the critical reading passages were simple. Math had a few hard questions, and some of the grammar was tricky, but I'd rate this as generous gift from the College Board.

to those who got 4 CR (1 of them experimental)...

what were the passages about in section 3?

section 2 was the nature one...
section 3??
section (dont remember which one): i believe it was about mona lisa
section of 20 min: uncle/niece discussion

thnks... I arhghh... I need to know which one's the experimental!

Did it today... it's a killer. The math isn't too tough if you've taken math throughout HS (except for some of the ones near the end of each section), BUT the whole rest of it, all that english is just stupid. Nearly every question you're just sitting there guessing between 2 or 3 answers it could be. You also better make sure you go fast, you don't get much time (even though you're at school for like 5 hours).

Do you know how the curve works? I mean... If most of the testtakers got it wrong I believe theres a curve or something.... I think that most of the people are gonna get wrong one the last 2 of each section specially math...

uhm.. and plz answer question above...

the last of the grid ins...
was it 1.8?

The last of the grid-ins was 4.2 (you subtracted 1.2 from 3 instead of adding).

Does anyone remember a question that had an answer 4(m^2+m+1) by any chance? I don't even know if this answer existed and I can hardly remember the question, but it's driving me nuts.

The question was like this. If a=4, then what is am^2+am+4 equal to?

What was the answer to the problem with 24 teachers reading the National Enquirer and 21 teachers reading something else? I think I put 7 as the answer.

Zoator, iono if its right but I also got 4(m^2+m+1) for that question.

Did anyone get 16 or 17 on the grid-ins? They were the 2nd and 3rd to last questions on the grid-ins. One of them was about the perimeter of 2 equilateral triangles put together.

The perimeter of the two triangles was 30.

The equilateral triangle one was 90.

As for the National Enquirer one, I did not have that question, which leads me to believe that it was part of an experimental section and will not be counted.

Oh ok, I couln't find the lengths of the last two sides that formed the "V" of the two triangles. I knew it was at least 50 but left it blank because I couln't get the answer.

If I didn't get to finish my essay, I was doing the 5 paragraph thing and I was in the middle of my third example and didn't get to the conclusion what do you think is the most I could get? Also, I used a Simpson's episode as one of my examples. Is that really dumb?

The scale on that picture was what made it tricky. Each of those segments on the right was 10, including the overlap between the 2 triangles (even though it appeared so much smaller than the non-overlapping parts), so each triangle had a side of 20. So the right side of the picture added up to 30, and then top and bottom were 20 each because they were both sides of the triangles. Since the bases of the triangles overlapped halfway on the right side, the intersection on the inside of the left side was also at the midpoint of the sides, so each part of that was 10. So you have 30 + 20 + 20 + 10 + 10 = 90.

Did people get a lot of no errors on the writing??

I thought the test was overall pretty normal. I highly disliked the dialogue reading section however since i usually do poorly on them. The math was decent, i just hope i didn't make dumb mistakes on long qusetions like the one where u have to get a four digit integer. The writing was pretty easy too, just one question i wasn't really sure of...does anyone know if the thunder and heat lightning question had a mistake in it? oh and yeah, that equilateral one was 90
