This is probably a frequently asked question. I'm sorry. haha >_<
I'm a junior and I really really really want to go to Tufts for Pre-dentistry.
I was wondering what GPA and SAT score some of you had.
Did anyone get accepted with an 89/90 GPA??? Is this even possible?
Is an SAT score of a 1900-2100 good enough? Is it too low?

I know the average requirement GPA is like a 94-95 percent...and their SAT requirement is a 2100-2400.....but I was just wondering what the accepted students had..

I would really appreciate it if you guys can help me out! :) Any comments on how you got in are appreciated!!

Class of 2014~

Don’t obsess over the numbers, you’ll drive yourself crazy. When it’s time to put together your applications, all you can do is present yourself and your record in the best possible light. Also try not to fixate on any one school.

If Tufts is your dream school apply ED. kids in my son’s school got in with much lower numbers then RD. that being said these numbers are pretty low for Tufts. Essays matter a lot, also your ECs. Did you take the ACT? You might do better on that.

@eniloracw-haha I understand I’m also thinking of Northeastern and BU!
But I really like Tufts, so I just wanted some statistics so I could compare myself.
If I had a really high GPA and high SAT scores, I would be more confident… >_<

As for the extracurricular/com. service and college essay, I think I’m on the right track.
But thanks!!

@momworried- I haven’t taken my SAT’s yet. I will this June! I’m also thinking of retaking it in October to get a higher score >_<

For my son. 2140 SAT. (Superhigh CR rest, not so much.) GPA was 93ish unweighted, 97ish weighted. Closer to 89 if you took out orchestra, which thankfully the school did not. 7 or 8 APs, 5s on everything taken before senior year. Very good, funny essays, I think pretty stellar LORs. Some interesting ECs/volunteer experiences outside of school. Very well rounded - Literary Magazine and Science Olympiad. Not a cookie cutter kid at all.

My son had 2300 on SATs 35 on ACT, an almost 4.0. He had 1 B+ in BC calc, rest As. Salutatorian, varsity athlete, research, bunch of other ECs.

Also, my D had 2240 SAT, 4.6 GPA, 10 AP’s, violinist forever, Lit Mag Pres, French Honors Pres, Girl Scouts 13 years, MUN Chair, etc etc But apply where you want to go and give it your best shot- everyone is different and great for different reasons! Tufts sees that.

Let me give you some hope…my Tufts son had GPA 3.6, no AP’s, ACT 30. Graduate of a top NE Prep School well known for no grade inflation and academic rigor. Varsity Athlete
He has had a very successful first year at Tufts

3.94 GPA UW, 4.2 W, 2050 SAT, rigorous schedule, great essays, very good EC’s, and great recs.
