If you took the SAT twice, what did you get the first time in math and what did you get the second? What did you do to help your score? If it got worse, what do you think happened?

I took it one and got a 720 after missing 3 questions. When I took my first practice test I missed two and got a 770. I kind of got lucky on that one since the curve was nice. However for the third one I only missed one because I reviewed after finishing a section and caught all the mistakes except one. The only mistake I didn’t catch was on the last question of a section that I just skimmed over because I was getting cocky after seeing that I was getting a lot right. On my last practice test I’ve taken so far from I missed three again and didn’t check for reasons I don’t why. So the moral of the story is, once your at the level where you know all the concepts and problem solving skills (just comes from practice or being good at math) you have to review because you are going to make mistakes. I would finish a section with about 8 or 9 minutes left and just sit there doing nothing. That is unacceptable.

@dirtysocks45 what math workbooks did you use and were they helpful? I’m having trouble missing finishing in time.

I didn’t use any workbooks. I don’t mean to brag, but I was already scoring in the 700s when I started, and I was only missing problems due to careless errors. You could use Gruber’s as I’ve heard that being recommended a lot on this forum. To finish in time, you just have to be more comfortable with the mathematical concepts. One thing to consider is writing out everything in the problem in mathematical form. This makes it easier to reason through. I haven’t been doing this previously since I have been doing many things in my head. However, I believe this may help to reduce careless errors as well as help you feel more comfortable with the problem in general.

First time got a 710 missing 5. Second got a 750 missing 2. Mainly careless errors. Giving again in oct hoping for an 800. Im gonna use dr. Chungs sat math to prepare for the hard problems. Just so they cant throw any curve balls at me. If ur scoring in the 600’s i suggest u use it too. I used BB, barrons, and PR. My math base in naturally strong
