I just had mine, and it went great! Well so far at least, the interviewer's Skype wasn't working so we agreed to reschedule. Before that, we'd already talked for about half an hour. I must admit that I was really nervous at first, but when the interview started it felt really natural and I actually enjoyed it. Though I wished I'd mentioned more on my extracurricular activities and my reasons for choosing Princeton.

This interview has also put my mind at ease for future interviews (I have one for Imperial College London in March). I think the key is to stay relaxed and be yourself. The interviewer said I was very natural and the person couldn't have guessed I used to be a very shy person.

Pretty good, it was really informal and like a conversation. Definitely being relaxed and being myself helped. She was also quite impressed by my achievements. Hoping for the best!

Mine was ****. He was a big time lawyer in Manhattan. I was super intimidated and he asked me questions that I wasn’t prepared for. Plus, it was a rainy, cold day so when I came in I was shivering like a puppy. It was terrible. :(

Mine was awful. I didn’t express enough interest in the school. I’m a little upset but I only have myself to blame as I wasn’t well prepared anyway. I had to email her to provide additional details about myself.

Mine was the best I had!
She was super relaxed and said she would write a great rec because she wanted me in
But I am international so I probably won’t anyway lol

Mine was one of my favorites. It lasted about an hour and we had a really awesome conversation about environmental policy, because he’s a biologist and I’m a politics fan.

I am not sure. My interviewer was super nice, laughed easily, listened patiently and kept everything informal. But he only asked me 2 questions(which I answered in 20 minutes) and devoted another 20 minutes to just answer my questions. But I am not sure if it went well because a 40 minute interview seems a bit on the shorter side(most of my interviews lasted an hour) and because he didn’t ask me much.

Just checking in here, but mine was atrocious-ish. It was over the phone, the interviewer was a youngish humanities-centric fanboy, and I’m supposed to be an science/engineering type applicant. We tried to bond over what little we did have in common, which turned out to be accidentally and bizarrely freakish similarities in geographic residency histories. Also, journalism and creative writing.

Over the phone, and I’m pretty sure his end was crackling with static every five seconds, so I had to stop asking “what?! I didn’t catch that?” after the third time and eventually just kind of courtesy-laughed every time his voice stopped sounding and I assumed he’d finished a sentence. Ugh. Did I mention it was kind of terrible? We kept talking over each other and making false starts with our sentences after hold-your-breath lapses in conversation.

So, in short, I’m pretty sure I came across as a ditzy, oddly giggly, and narrow-interest-displaying girl who couldn’t listen and made lots of non sequiturs. insert stupid neanderthal grunt here

Oh, by the way, that’s totally not supposed to be bitter or anything. I’m just trying to cheer up anyone who might have had a similarly harrowing experience. My whole interview was actually kind of hilarious, albeit in a tragic and kind of unfortunate way.

Mine was absolutely amazing!
Very chilled and relaxed as well - mine was an associate (something) at a property investment firm in South Africa. We spoke for almost an hour and thirty minutes!! And not so much about Princeton, but about all sorts of things - like my swimming, him going up Mt Kilimanjaro, politics… all sorts was great!!

My interview was kinda meh think I did better in my Upenn one >.>.

The guy asked where else you applied too then discreetly insulted like each college. Then went on a rant about how if he applied today he wouldn’t have gotten in and said things like getting in even with great academics is like wining the lottery.

Then when he talked about what i was interested in and I talked about biochem and other things relating to it and things of that nature. He then paused for sec and talked about how hard it was and how Science wasn’t his cup of tea.

Although I did get him to warm up and relax a bit but then at the end repeated the lottery stuff.

Mine was interesting. We debated about affirmative action and problems with education system in Asia. We barely talked about the school because since I visited the school and knew so much already, he did not have much to tell me.

Speaking on behalf of my son, his interview was very interesting. We rescheduled the first interview, based (quite frankly) on the interviewer. After reading his profile, we realized he would not do well with my son. We rescheduled and ended up with a great interviewer, who attended the local admissions party with my son! He said my son was the first person he had ever interviewed who was actually admitted…
