My interview is literally in a few hours and I would love to hear inputs from my fellow applicants. What did you wear? What general questions did the interviewer ask? Did you enjoy the presence of the interviewer? Was there any excessive digression? Did you enjoy the interview? If you could change anything about your specific interview, what would it be and why? Thank you, everyone who participated!

Mine lasted about an hour. I was a bit nervous but I managed to answer the questions he asked me without hesitation. I did ask him lots of questions though. When he asked me why I am applying to Princeton I asked him why he applied. I also told him that I’d rather go to Oxford (to which I am also applying). I couldn’t tell what he thought of me though.

mine was a nightmare to set up, she finally got back to me 9 days after i had emailed her with my availability. I was stressing!

the actual interview was great though. i wore black dress pants, black shoes and a shimmery sweater. most of her questions had to do with what i like to do, about my personality, etc. she also allowed to time for me to ask questions. make sure you prepare questions beforehand.

she was very interesting to talk to, and although she majored in history and i’m an engineer, it was still informative and pleasant.

each interview is different though, so don’t get too caught up on anything i said. good luck!

I wore a purple dress with a black cardigan. He basically asked me how I was unique from the other applicants and we went from there. It truly was a conversation. I was nervous until I met my interviewer, who was really nice. It wasn’t like an interrogation at all. It was really fun, and I left feeling more confident about my choice to apply early to Princeton.

My best advice would be to relax and be yourself.

My interview was a lot more casual than I thought it would be. We met at his house, I met his kids, and one of his dogs sat on my lap for the entire interview, lol.

With that said, it worried me a little because we basically spent 80% of the interview talking about Princeton. It was great for me because it gave me a lot more insight into the school, but he didn’t learn much about me through the interview so I don’t know how that will play out.

But overall, I agree with all of the other posters’ comments. I hope you enjoyed it! Guess we’ll see in a couple weeks. :)

Hey guys! Just curious, were y’all contacted by alumni through e-mail, or did you send a request in? I applied for Princeton regular decision, and two weeks after fully submitting my app, i have had no reply. But I have gotten an interview from Harvard (SCEA) and Duke (regular) already. Wondering what was up with that? Thanks.

did your interviewers read your application beforehand and ask you questions directly from it?

My interviewer actually emailed me for princeton after the undergraduate admissions sent me an email

The Princeton undergrad office emailed me saying I would be contacted, then my interviewer called me. This was about 2 weeks after I submitted my app. My interviewer hadn’t read my app since he asked me about my ACT score. I don’t think they give them the app to read.

Soccer4kk - They do not see any part of your application, and they are not allowed to ask about test scores or GPA.

I got an email from Princeton saying I would be contacted, but my interviewer contacted my school and I had my interview in a conference room at my school.

i had my interview and the interviewer said that he only got my name and contact info from princeton

I had my interview on the 2nd, and it lasted about one hour. He mainly asked me about what I was interesting in, what drew me to Princeton, etc.

I had my interview on the 1st, and it went really well. I wore slacks and a blazer. I asked him a lot of questions about Princeton first, and he admitted that out of all his interviewees this year, I knew the most about the school After that, he asked me some generic questions about my favorite class at school, my extracurriculars, and what I’d bring to the Princeton campus. He, his wife, and his daughter had all gone to Princeton, so we definitely bonded over Pton loyalty haha. Overall, the interview lasted one and a half hours.

I had a phone interview that was relatively short. I felt like my personality really came across despite the mode of conversation.
