I do plan on using myedu to make sure I have good professors but I'd just like to hear the general consensus.

I do study, take my work seriously, go to class, and pay attention. I do put my school before fun, so that being the case, is it very feasible that somebody could get a 3.6+ at A&M?

college is different for everyone. Some who did very well in High School sometimes don’t do so well in college. It just depends on how you set your priorities. It is easy to say you will put studies first now, but that may change once you hit the freedom of college.
It is up to you.
A saying I just heard. College is about social life, study life, & sleep. You can do well 2 out of 3 of these activities. What will be your 2?
For my daughter - she picked study & social life. She has a 3.76 gpa going into her Jr year. However, the lack of sleep very nearly resulted in a breakdown this May.

Just from what I read, you sound like a very good student. I would say, if the above is true, you can get a 3.6. Time management is the hardest things for student with all the freedom. If you can concentrate when you need to, study hard and have fun after, you will do well in school. Go in with the right mindset with school coming first and you will do well.

I was almost a straight A student in high school, and got a 3.0 my first semester at A&M, then i totally bombed 2nd semester and now have a 2.3 gpa. i just got involved in too many student organizations I was involved in 5 plus having a job, so yea, if you dont spread yourself too thin, and study you should be fine!

For Engineering, 1-2 yrs is doable, and require quite a bit of discipline and hard work. 3-4 yrs, the upper division classes is another story. However, there are students graduate with Latin Honors, so you may be those that are super-smart and genius. ((: If you have scholarships that require that magic 3.5, then you have to make the grade.
