How do AP credits work?

I’m confused about how AP credits work at the University of Alabama. I scored a 4 on the AP English exam and a 5 on the US History, though I have a few questions about what my AP credits will actually do (I am a prospective mechanical engineering major, if that helps anything):

Does my American History score count for Humanities courses or for Social/Behavioral Sciences?

Would taking the Honors English course void my AP credits? I plan on rushing a fraternity fall semester while taking an easier (12/13 credits) course load, and then taking the Honors English course Spring semester to improve my writing skills. Would I not have enough credits to graduate if I try to do this, or will I not have to worry about it?

Your 4 in English gives you credit for both Frosh Comp I and Frosh Comp II.

Why would you take Honors English 103 Frosh Comp? If you do, you won’t get get the AP credits.

American History AP Credits aren’t SB. I think they’re HI, but I’ll check to be sure.

Here…they’re HI

American History 3 HY 203 and HY 204 6 HI

I recommend you look up the flow chart for Mechanical Engineering, it is extremely helpful in planning courses and the number of credits you should take each semester.
