I’m interested in the order that CAOs go about reading a student’s application. Do they read the stats first and save the essays for last? What’s the order in which they read the essays? Would they have gone through my application prior to interviewing me? Thanks for the help guys.
I don’t think every AO does it exactly the same way, and schools tend to be very secretive about their general process. Read “Who Gets In And Why” by Jeffrey Selingo for an inside look into the processes at Emory, the University of Washington, and Davidson.
Varies by AO and/or college.
Varies. Also note for many colleges, the interviewer is an alum who does not see your application.
D20 scheduled all interviews for the summer before senior year, prior to submitting applications. Some interviews were evaluative and some were not. One interview left her with a bad taste in her mouth and she made a substitution on her app list, still having an interview before submitting the application. She was a fall athlete with a strong ED choice but knew time was tight in the fall.
