How do engineering schools regard low CR scores?

So if I received 750 M, 730 W, and only 520 in Critical Reading section, and I am applying strictly to engineering schools, would stronger colleges like Ivies consider the fact that I am not a bad student, I just failed in CR section? Or do they just check the overall score and see whether I fit in that 2100-2300 category? I am also planning to send Math II 800 and one other subject score.

Please let me know if you are familiar with this. THANK YOU!

(English is not my first language and I am applying as an international student, hence such a bad reading score..)

What schools did you apply to anyway?

A couple of Ivies, some other lower rank universities.

I’m not an expert on admissions (so you may want to contact the places you are applying to), but I think it will be a problem. Reading comprehension is still very important for engineers.

I’m wondering the same thing. But Yes, reading comprehension is important for engineering and as well as any other majors.

I agree with you, it is crucial in life in general, let alone in engineering profession. I guess I just thought that maybe it is not AS important in engineering schools as it is in law schools.
