I finally got my NetID and can log in... now what? The only thing it seems I can do is make a roommate request.

Also it says "At 2:00pm on Thursday, March 29, 2007 the Apartments/Singles/South Suites portion of the Housing Selection process ended. Students who have not selected a room through this part of the process, who intend to live on campus during 2007-2008 must participate in the Campus Wide Housing Selection beginning Monday, April 2, 2007."

What exactly does this mean? How is the Apartments/Singles/South Suites different from the campus wide housing selection?

They said "Campus Wide Housing Selection times will be e-mailed to students at their HuskyMail accounts on March 30th and will appear on the student?s My Housing Home/Overview page." but I see nothing there.

in the campus wide housing selection you can pic a double or triple room. I was going to choose a single room for the next year but I missed the selection that ended on march 29, so the best thing I can get now is a double room. If you haven`t received your selection time, contact nikki.cole@uconn.edu. She is in the residential life office.

Your selection time can also be found in the My Housing link on the reslife website (reslife.uconn.edu).

edit: you said you just got your net ID, so does that mean you're an incoming freshman? If so then you don't get to pick, you are assigned a room. You just need to fill out the housing contract. You can request a roommate though.

So I guess all I can do is request roommates now. They will automatically choose a building/room for me, correct? I guess I don't really need to worry about anything.

If they assign roommates is it totally random or will they send out a questionnaire thing to try to match people? I'd probably like to room with someone with the same major.

There's a questionnaire. They don't match by major as far as I know, just a few questions like whether you smoke or not, whether you study in the day or in the night, etc.
